Healing the World Through Art

La Voie Lactée, 2021
Healing the World Through Art is an interdisciplinary research and creation program developed since 2019, exploring the capacity of art to contribute to individual, social, and environmental regeneration. Bringing together artists, researchers, healthcare professionals, scientists, and local communities, the project investigates how creative practices can foster resilience, dialogue, and sustainable futures.
The program is structured around three interconnected axes. The first focuses on non-extractive development and circular economy, exploring alternative models of production, resource management, and cultural innovation that promote sustainability and social responsibility. The second addresses ecology and the environment, examining the relationships between humans and living ecosystems while encouraging new forms of ecological awareness and engagement. The third axis is dedicated to post-traumatic healing and recovery, particularly through art therapy, participatory artistic practices, and collective experiences that support emotional, psychological, and social reconstruction.
Positioned at the intersection of contemporary art, science, health, and social innovation, Healing the World Through Art develops exhibitions, workshops, research initiatives, publications, and community-based projects. Through these activities, it investigates how artistic processes can become tools for care, empowerment, and transformation.
By understanding healing not only as a medical process but also as a cultural, ecological, and collective practice, the project proposes art as a catalyst for dialogue, regeneration, and social cohesion. It demonstrates how creativity can help reconnect people with one another, with their environments, and with new visions of a more sustainable and compassionate world. An exhibition inspired by a historical dictionary of women warriors and the ways female courage, power and identity have been represented throughout history. The project explores the relationship between gender, heroism and social expectations through a dialogue between two artists. A programme at Palais de Tokyo exploring the relationship between contemporary art, ecology and mental health. Through the new hamo space, the institution develops inclusive practices and research around mental diversity, neurodiversity and vulnerability, aiming to rethink how art institutions engage with diverse audiences. An exhibition exploring the idea of collective immunity as a metaphor for resilience in times of global uncertainty. Through different artistic approaches, the participating artists reflect on isolation, creativity and the possibility of regeneration in response to social and political crises. A symposium exploring the intersections of contemporary art, art therapy and medical research. Organised by the Scientific Centre of Monaco and the Alexander Savchuk Foundation, the event presents projects using art in therapeutic and scientific contexts, with a focus on innovative approaches to health and care. A performative symposium exploring the therapeutic potential of art in response to natural disasters, war and the COVID-19 pandemic. Bringing together scientists, researchers, art professionals and specialists in therapy and psychoanalysis, the event examines how artistic practices can support healing, care and the transformation of trauma.Events
